Green Queen Music Returns to Inspiral.

26Oct

POSTED BY

Returning to inSpiral after a packed summer party in July, the guys behind Green Queen Music with the help of marvel promoter Seb Merrick are promising a tasty mix of exotic on-the-beat music from gypsy groove to oriental dub – ie good amounts of bass mixed with peace-loving global sounds and good-time beats. The titles of the latest releases on the Green Queen label give you a clue: A Jamaican in Cairo, Balkan Fever London, Weirdub, and Gypsyland. Global music that crosses boundaries and brings people together with positive vibes and understanding. Producer-DJs Pony and Dr Cat from the label will be joined by guests and a special raw and rootsy live set from Nicki Maher and her Gypsy Band. Leading on clarinet, Nicki is one of few musicians in the UK with such an indepth knowledge of the amazing gypsy music of the Balkans and Turkey and an ability to get right into the authentic style. The last party was an uplifting, sweaty summer sizzler. Don’t miss the cosy winter edition in the venue overlooking the canal – to recharge yourself with the freshest music out there. And it’s free.
